Motivation and application domain
In vitro models of the brain based on 3D structures, realistic connectivity as well as neuronal compositions are nowadays essential. For this reasons, goal of this thesis is to provide a new experimental model to characterize their functional connections in a precise way and promote a focused chemical stimulation without using microfluidics set-up.
General objectives and main activities
Development of a new experimental protocol to evaluate the connectivity in complex neuronal structures based on cortical and hippocampal neurons.
