Description
Motivation and application domain
Fine manipulation tasks, such as drawing, writing or grasping are essential to perform various daily activities and these tasks need retraining after traumatic events.
General objectives and main activities
The overall goal of this project is to study technically the feasibility of re-training fine manipulation functionalities through a new haptic device in subjects with different levels of impairment. In this case rehabilitation robotics has the aim of making possible for the subjects to recover lost/damaged functionalities. The general objectives and activities are:
1. To develop and implement a software architecture for the haptic device in order to control it
2. To implement and test some task on the device present in the lab.
3. To Analyze the results in order to extract relevant information for the application of the device in the rehabilitation scenario.
