Description
Motivation and application domain
Effective monitoring of health research projects is essential for the success of investment initiatives and to provide strategic support for the management decisions of research organisations. This work was necessary given the large number of research projects funded by Investment 2.1 of Mission 6 - Component 2 of the NRP 'Improving and strengthening biomedical research in the NHS.
General objectives and main activities
The aim of this thesis is to propose an innovative model of indicators (KPIs) for performance monitoring and evaluation based on the analysis of healthcare research projects and the innovations and obligations introduced by the economic-procedural reporting and monitoring platform.
The model will be designed to adapt to the peculiarities of health research projects and will be conceived to be eventually implemented in the management software of the research organisation.
The proposed model will aim to
- Strengthen and (concretely) implement governance over the monitoring processes of healthcare research projects;
- Analysing the items relating to the project life cycle;
- Check in particular the items related to the monitoring phase;
- Homogenise the results of research project evaluations;
- Propose a possible IT implementation of the identified set of indicators.
