Thesis advisor(s): Giacomini Mauro E-mail:
Address: Via Opera Pia 13 Phone: (+39) 010 33 56546
Description

Motivation and application domain
The thesis research will be aimed at developing an automatic system based on analytical methodologies in order to support evidence-based clinical management

General objectives and main activities
The main tasks will be the following ones:

? Develop a model for obsolescence assessment that includes a cybersecurity indicator, enabling a structured determination of whether a device requires replacement, maintenance, or remains operational; also with incomplete datasets.
? Develop an automatic extraction system of the selected parameters influencing the obsolescence of electromedical devices, including parameters related to the updateability of embedded software in order to evaluate the cyber-attack vulnerability.

Training Objectives (technical/analytical tools, experimental methodologies)
The student will have to deal with the major themes of clinical engineering and also themes of operating systems to provide objective bases for the evaluation criteria of the obsolescence of medical devices.

Place(s) where the thesis work will be carried out: Indian Research Center - Ospedale Gaslini
