Description
Motivation and application domain
Esaote implemented, and marketed under the name Speed-Up, an accelerated imaging technique (Esaote patent https://patents.google.com/patent/US9629612B2/en) based on compressed sensing.
General objectives and main activities
This technique is based on the mathematical framework and the acquisition of compressed sensing and exploits its advantages.
Recent implementations by the main competitors suggest that the potential of this approach may be greater.
The proposed activity involves an initial theoretical study of the problem, a critical comparison with current acquisition and reconstruction techniques and the acquisition of a test data set on the laboratory tomographers

Training Objectives (technical/analytical tools, experimental methodologies)
The implementation of prototype software will be requested for the definition of acquisition sequences and reconstruction strategies. Esaote expressed a strong preference for an implementation in MATLAB
Place(s) where the thesis work will be carried out: DIBRIS e ESAOTE (sede di Genova,Via Multedo di Pegli, 2E)
